This book by @jenleedotnet and @timmanleytimmanley, THE 10 LETTERS PROJECT, is my literary focus at the moment. I did buy THE ARGONAUTS, and plan to read that next, but as I'm working on edits and revisions of TBoP, this book seems to be the fortification I require. There's lots of conversation about the artistic process, about rhythms, about the ways in which we hide and let ourselves be seen. And, funnily enough, I'm currently engaged in a literary correspondence that feels much like the one in this volume (hi, M). I keep my favorite highlighter with me when I read it. It's that good. #10letters
Equally exciting is this beautiful copy of Ten Letters that @jenleedotnet gave me. Written with Tim Manley, it is a series of letters back and forth between two creatives, on this scary, exhilarating thing we do--and the reality of it (which so few people talk about). I'm only one letter in, but I've been smiling and nodding and seeing things in a new light. I can't wait to read more. And it's so pretty I want to pet it.
Have you discovered The 10 Letters Project from @jenleedotnet & @timmanleytimmanley? It's such an inspiration! @traceyclark & @henrylohmeyer got a chance to chat with Jen about the project, about #ourcollective, about creativity, gender & friendship and we shared it (in an audio) in the June issue of X. If you'd like to take a listen, the link is in our profile. We'd love to hear your thoughts about how the connections you've made and/or the collaborations you're a part of enhance & inspire your creative life.
I just finished this. I loved the vulnerability between two friends, two makers. I loved the rawness of their letters, especially when they wrote them despite not knowing if they had the words to convey their thoughts and feelings. I loved that this book is a view into the creative's process...the highs, lows, and everything in between. Thank you @jenleedotnet & @timmanleytimmanley. #10lettersproject #summerreads #creativelife #inspired #youarenotalone #stories #letters #friendship
Sitting outside reading "The 10 Letters Project" by @jenleedotnet & @timmanleytimmanley and thinking how grateful I am that I was at #serendipityobx when they talked about this project and how fun it is to know in person and online the lovely art makers mentioned in the book. @lizkalloch must be the Chief Untangler. Am I right Jen?
Fresh flowers, vintage ladies head vase collection, books to read that special friends wrote, candles to calm, fresh water with lemon, my hubby beside me, my puppy beside me. Healing more everyday.
